Is Your Pet Eating This Toxic Dog Food?

toxic dog foodEven if youre a cat person, youre going to want to read this because Purina is an extremely popular brand that has the potential to affect millions of pet owners.

The Danger In Purina

Purina is currently facing lawsuit filed in California earlier this February, it basically claims that one of its most popular brands contains toxins that are slowly killing pets.

The brand in question is Beneful dry kibble dog food. The claimant, Frank Lucido, and his family owned three dogs. They began feeding their dogs Beneful in early December.

One dog was dead by the end of January and the other two required immediate medical attention.

A postmortem analysis showed severe internal damage to their liver that is consistent to poisoning.

The scary part is that there are over 3,000 complaints filed online against Beneful.

Lucidos lawsuit claims that the propylene glycol and mycotoxins found in the dog food are responsible for poisoning his pets.

In the mean time, you should probably steer clear of this brand until more concise information is available to the public. I also recommend avoiding these brands as well.

Alternatively, you can also explore the possibility of organic dog food.

I dont want to end on the sad note of sick pets, so Im going to take this news as a chance to celebrate our wonderful canine family members.

One word of warning, never let your kids see the following list if theyre trying to convince you to get a dog because it could just convince you.

Or at least convince them to redouble their efforts to try to break your determination not to have one.

4 Benefits of Having A Dog

  1. They Can Fight Depression

Besides being adorable and the second best subjects to create viral videos (Im sorry, cats are still the monarchs of the web), dogs can help improve your overall levels of mental health.

Studies show that dog owners diagnosed with depression are less likely to go through bouts of depression. More importantly, the care dogs require help relieve symptoms of depression and bring a smile to your face.

  1. Theyre a Natural Workout

Why? Because unlike cats, dogs are the perfect motivation to go out for a thirty-minute stroll that can greatly improve your health in the long run.

Best of all, not even the coldest of hearts can say no to an adorable dog waiting beside the door ready to go. Unlike the myriad of excuses for not working out, you simply cant find an excuse not to walk your dog.

  1. They Can Help Your Childrens Allergies

This sounds almost contradictory, right? However, studies show that children who grow up in home with dogs are less likely to develop allergies. To top things off, growing up with a dog helps them develop an increased immunity to having pet allergies later in life.

  1. They Can Help Reduce Stress

Why? Because unlike cats, dogs are actually a very effective home security system. Barking alone has turned out to be an amazing deterrent for any potential burglars scoping out a target.

This fact alone helps you relax because an increased sense of security is vital for both your mental and physical wellbeing.
