I was on Facebook recently when I saw a page belonging to a local woman who has set up her own business making letter art. Her work was beautifully done, with each letter crafted in an individual pattern and conforming to an overall theme, giving it a kitschy, arty feel that I loved. I thought how fabulous they would look on my little boys shelves in his room, but the only way I could afford the price per letter she asked would be to change my sons name to something with only two letters. So, whats a thrifty gal with great taste to do (except break out the baby name book)? Ask Google, of course! A little stealthy sleuth work turned up this guide from Caught On a Whim which demonstrates an oh so easy way to create your own block letters in any style. My child can keep his full seven letter name without having to live with bare shelves, and I can enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that Ive created an object of beauty at a fraction of the retail price!
